Teach Pediatrics in Private Offices

WILLIAM G. CROOK MD1

1 681 Skyline Dr, Jackson, TE 38301

To the Editor.—

I liked the commentary by the late Joseph W. St Geme, Jr, MD (Pediatrics 1987;79:287-288), and his recommendation for more clinic-side teaching. He pointed out that the offsite conference room is not the best place to teach. Instead, he said that "bright energetic young men and women ... will find their pediatric adventure where the children are."

During the 1960s, I served on the Council on Pediatric Practice of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
