To the Editor.
We noted with interest the report from Belman et al1 describing the radiologic detection of cerebral edema in a child with galactosemia. We would like to provide further evidence of cerebral edema in this condition using ultrasonography.
Our patient was the first child of a single mother, born after an uneventful pregnancy. Labor started spontaneously, but the baby was born by forceps delivery after a delay in the second stage which lasted one hour 20 minutes.
