Dr Park's first question centers around why data from the earlier NIH report were excluded from the current report. As indicated in the new report, because of the absence of prospective cohort data that can clearly link level of BP to cardiovascular risk, the Task Force did the next best thing which was to gather together the most comprehensive and reliable normative BP data to establish normal BP curves for children by age.
