NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

The Section on Pediatrics of the American Medical Association at the meeting held in June 1951 decided to activate the Jacobi Fund, inactive since World War II. The Fund had its inception at a meeting of the Section in 1921 for the purpose of defraying the expenses of guest speakers, thereby promoting research and education in the field of pediatrics. It was named the Jacobi Fund to memorialize the name of the "father of American pediatrics," Abraham Jacobi of New York City.
