IS PREVENTION ALWAYS BETTER THAN CURE?

A stitch in time saves nine, and is worth doing if the nine stitches will definitely have to be sewn. If, however, a hundred people have to have a stitch sewn into them to save one of them from having nine stitches, the proverb and the principle become more complex.
