Dr Wiswell and colleagues raise a number of questions about our recent report of tracheal injury following high-frequency ventilation.1 We appreciate their concerns but disagree with their conclusions.

We think the title of the paper is a good one. It is true that an individual perusing only the title of this report might assume that we studied all types of high-frequency ventilation currently available and conclude that all produce tracheal damage. Would a longer, more detailed title have been better? We think not for a number of reasons.
