Girls on Boys' Teams

To the Editor.
I have been a long time advocate of equality for women, but recently I have come to realize that excessive zeal in that direction can go beyond the bounds of reason. I am particularly concerned with the trend in several states of court suits to force states and localities to allow teenaged girls to participate with boys in contact sports.
There is a difference physiologically between males and females. That difference is a result of the action of the male hormone, testosterone, which renders most males considerably larger and stronger than most females.
