To the Editor.
Among the frequently encountered problems of a general or referral pediatrician are constipation and/or encopresis. We recently had a patient who presented with a chief complaint of increased stooling pattern, the cause of which may be an acceptable addition to the therapeutic modalities applied to constipated children.
A 10-year-old boy, previously in good health, was brought in because his stool pattern had changed in the past 4 months. He was an individual who, prior to the change, went unnoticed as to his bowel habit.
