1 President, American Academy of Pediatrics
Golden anniversaries are very special. The 50th anniversary of Title V of the Social Security Act of 1935 has extra significance for the American Academy of Pediatrics. The Academy owes its existence in large part to the events leading up to the Act and the current implementation of the Act has been greatly influenced by the Academy. The story deserves telling again.1,2
