Nordin1 described the clinical course of a patient who had a recurrence of rheumatic fever while receiving monthly injections of benzathine penicillin. Nordin pointed out that in light of this case report, a re-evaluation of the current recommendations for the prophylaxis of rheumatic fever in children is indicated.
