To the Editor.—

The pediatric community is indebted to Dr Schwartz1 for sharing his personal experience with his own marijuana-using son and for using this experience to alert practitioners once again to the hazards of this drug. His remarkable personal restraint, combined with his thorough scientific documentation, underscore the pain that a family must endure as they witness the inexorable deterioration of their child, a pain made all the worse by the realization that the course of events might have been preventable.
