How sure these Georgians are! What a pity their case is so weak.

First, the beery allusion to W. S. Gossett is flat: (a) if your correspondents think my nom de plume was chosen with Guinness Brewery's famous number buff in mind, they are dead wrong, and (b) Gossett would hardly have earned enduring fame for merely pointing out an elementary error like that of performing unwarranted arithmetic operations on numbers obtained in low levels of measurement.
