The Irresponsible Expert Witness

EARL J. CARSTENSEN MD1

1 1455 S Potomac, No. 304, Aurora, CO 80012

To the Editor.—

I read with great interest Brent's article. "The Irresponsible Expert Witness: A Failure of Biomedical Graduate Education and Professional Accountability (Pediatrics 1982;70:754-762). This experience, coupled with reflection upon various readings from multidisciplines, evokes an intellectual and emotive fear at the shortcomings of our judicial process.
