Carbamazepine-Isoniazid Interaction

In Reply.—

Wright's similar case of carbamazepine intoxication following the addition of isoniazid is most interesting, and it emphasizes our conclusions that physicians should be aware of the risk of interaction between carbamazepine and certain other medications, such as isoniazid. It is noteworthy that Wright's patient was determined to have inherited the slow acetylator phenotype. This information is not available on our patient.
