Letter to the Editor

Thomas E. Reichelderfer MD1 and John P. Dorst MD1

1 Department of Pediatrics and The Russell H. Morgan Department of Radiology and Radiological Science, The Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions, Baltimore, MD 21205

Frye refers to the sentence in the next to the last paragraph of our article1 which states that the new zinc cent "will cost 49 cents as compared to 99 cents for the bronze penny."

Those of us in the military who drilled with the Springfield rifle, which weighs 9.6 pounds, often thought that after a period of time the decimal point dropped out. So did ours. The sentence should have read, ".49 cents as compared to .99 cents."
