Drs Weiss and De Jong (Pediatrics 66:91, 1980) are to be commended for sharing information about the costs and revenues associated with their pediatric continuity program. Such an analysis is important for departments of pediatrics in understanding the financial impact of their training program and for helping them make better informed decisions about the future course of such programs.
However, the authors have presented an even more optimistic picture of the financial position of the continuity practice than seems to be justified by the description of the program.
