Upon reading the interesting article by Branski et al1 concerning Hirschsprung's disease and Waardenburg syndrome, we think it beneficial to report this association in one of our patients. As Branski et al pointed out, both conditions are believed to be caused by a defect in the migration of neural crest cells before the 12th week of gestation (a hypothesis elicited by McKusick2 in 1973).

Our patient, FD, was born at 41 weeks' gestation with a birth weight of 3,225 gm following an uncomplicated pregnancy.
