Goldsberg, Berne, and Oski's report of CT scanning for orbital cellulitis (Pediatrics 12:1000, 1978) brought to mind a patient whom I cared for during my residency who had three recurrences of unilateral orbital cellulitis within a two-month period, each of which resolved easily on antibiotics. An echo scan investigation revealed a solid orbital tumor.
Would Drs. Goldsberg et al or perhaps other editors comment on this less expensive, more available technique to evaluate the infections discussed in this article?
