Another problem deserving of thoughtful discussion by mature scientists is what to do about current scientific literature. Should scientists be encouraged to include in their articles speculation (labelled as such) on possible uses of their findings in their own or other fields, instead of studiously avoiding it; could this have an important impact on the research of "me-too" scientists who are superb technically but not imaginative or creative? Is there a way of promptly calling to the attention of biomedical scientists important new techniques or concepts that they normally would come across for years?
