In tackling the abnormalities of development of this most complicated of structures, Smith has done a service to his colleagues by collating literature, pointing out major adverse events during the growth of the brain, and giving examples of abnormality of developing brain derived from his own extensive experience. In this volume he has presented briefly some of the classic concepts of neuropathology as applied to the developing brain to satisfy his goal of giving this information in a concise form.
