Dr. Janeway's role in the IPA and his other contributions to the world scene

For the last two decades Dr. Janeway has been one of the foremost figures of international pediatrics. The same qualities which have served him so well at home have also brought him great respect and esteem in the world community of pediatricians. The following is a brief presentation of a few highlights from his activities on the world scene.

THE INTERNATIONAL PEDIATRIC ASSOCIATION (IPA)

During the long "reign" of Guido Fanconi as Secretary-General, from 1950 onwards, the vitality of the Association had increased considerably and the triennial international congresses progressively gained more prestige and attracted larger audiences.

At the Tenth IPA Congress in Lisbon, in 1962, a new constitution was endorsed.
