UNDERSTANDING CHILDREN, By Richard A. Gardner, M.D. New York, Jason Aronson, Inc, 1973, $10.00; 258 pp

Robert G. Aug M.D.1

1 Lexington, Kentucky

Dr. Gardner's book is valid, clearly written, and as complete as the current state of our knowledge will allow. (Completeness/incompleteness is a special problem in any advice on child-rearing, and hence an important quality in looks on the subject.) At any rate, there are many other recent books in this field with much to recommend them, so why another one?
