1 Plastic Surgery Service, Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center, and the Departments of Clinical Surgery and Anatomy, Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, New York, New York
Studies were conducted on mannequins using gasoline and flammable and nonflammable children's clothing. The results indicate that the flame-resistant standards currently required by law for children's sleepwear lead to much less severe burns.
