Fluoride in First Six Months of Life?

The April 1975 issue of Pediatrics contained a letter from the chairman of the AAP Committee on Nutrition1 implying that the infant in the first six months of life might be harmed by daily administration of as little as 0.5 mg of fluoride ion.

In the same issue, in the article "Dietary Fluoride Intake of Infants,"2 calculation of estimated dietary fluoride intake indicates that many infants take in this amount or more without "medicinal" supplementation.
