Under Scrutiny of Optometry

Arthur S. Seiderman O.D., M.A.1

1 1755 Old York Road, Abington, Pennsylvania 19001

I am writing this letter in reference to Silver's article on learning disabilities which appeared in the March 1975 issue of Pediatrics.1 The article certainly was a much needed one, since pediatricians are frequently confronted with questions relating to children with learning disabilities. In general, I must commend the excellent representation and delivery.

The portion of the article which related to my own area of expertise, optometry, I felt was misleading and unfairly dealt with.
