The interesting letter by Minehan and Touloukian1 which appeared in Pediatrics prompted a review of the caseload on the British Columbia Registry for Handicapped Children and Adults. The organization and ascertainment sources have been discussed previously.2-3 Our best ascertainment period for a malformation of this type began in 1964. In the period from 1964 to 1972 inclusive, there were 638 cases of either unilateral or bilateral cryptorchidism found from a total number of 158,987 live male births.
