Letter to the Editor

William E. Homan M.D.1

1 410 North Broadway, White Plains, New York 10603

The arrogant and pompous tone of the "comments" of the Committee on Drugs in response to the Letter to the Editor by Drs. Livingston, Berman, and Pauli in the November 1973 issue of Pediatrics would be childish and ludicrous were it not all too typical. As a statement of an official Committee, printed in an official voice of the Academy, it proves merely embarrassing with its petulance. One may hope that the group signature, "Committee on Drugs," implies that at least not all the members of the Committee were willing to be signatories.
