I couldn't agree more with the comments of Duff et al. in your July issue. I would add that the same problem which affects the training of students affects later the training of pediatric residents. In September of 1973, Dr. Edwin Harrington, former Director of the Jefferson Children and Youth ("C & Y") Program of Philadelphia, died suddenly leaving his work unfinished. I had trained under his guidance together with Dr. E. Williams, and as a tribute to his memory I would like to summarize this particular contribution to pediatric training.
