We appreciated the information about the additional cases of suppurative thyroiditis in children. Regrettably, our review of the literature which was confined to English did not lead us to the two cases of Saenz de Rodríguez and Pírez-Comas2 or to references 4 through 8 in the foreign literature. The case of Barrata,3 as cited by Mora (Kirkland et al., reference 12), was included in the 36 cases in children. We do make it a practice to review the U.S. literature and we apologize for neglecting our neighbors in the commonwealth.
