The authors present the impressions gained from their experiences with 266 patients in the pediatric seizure clinic of a general hospital. They conclude that the systematic inclusion of psychosocial dynamics and attention to personality development in the management of children with a variety of seizure disorders have both therapeutic and prophylactic value.
To utilize this approach, they outline specific techniques and principles which can be applied by the physician with little additional time commitment and with no special psychological or psychiatric skills.
