This volume evolved from a 1969 international symposium of the same title sponsored by the Ontario Heart Foundation in cooperation with the Hospital for Sick Children and the University of Toronto. The participants were outstanding cardiologists, surgeons, and pathologists from throughout the world, and the resulting publication is a multiauthored compendium which explores the current areas of interest concerning the major congenital heart lesions.

This book is certainly one of the best of its type yet published; the material is extremely well organized and nicely edited.
