Donald A. Riopel M.D.1 and Charles E. Mullins M.D.1

1 Section of Cardiology, Department of Pediatrics, Baylor College of Medicine, Texas Children's Hospital, P.O. Box 20269, Houston, Texas 77025

A case of a neonate is presented who was referred because of heart failure and paroxysmal atrial tachycardia and who subsequently was found to have congenital thyrotoxicosis. The arrhythmia was easily treated with Digitoxin. However, a labile heart rate continued until his LATS level was normal. This is the first known reported case of paroxysmal atrial tachycardia associated with congenital thyrotoxicosis.
