A case of prolonged (107 hours) renal shut-down due to potassium bromate poisoning is presented.
Emphasis is placed upon the extreme youth of the patient and his clinical recovery on a conservative regime.
There is included a brief description of the management which consisted of fluid and electrolyte restriction.
A review of the pertinent literature is included.
