Judging by personal inquiries to me as well as by your correspondence columns, iron supplementation of infant feeding regimens continues to be a red-hot subject with a surprising number of practicing pediatricians recording themselves as against it, despite the large volume of supporting data on which the A.A.P. Nutrition Committee's statement was based. Dr. Filer's clear answers (Pediatrics, 48:152, 1971) could not touch on all points. I wish to consider a few additional questions posed by the negative side.
