Twin male infants, immunized with BCG at birth, died at 4
months and 9 months of age with dissemination of this organism, as well as other infections. Disorders of humoral and cellular immunity were excluded by laboratory findings, but evidence of defective phagocytic activity in a surviving relative strongly suggests that the twins represent the first known instance of BCG-osis complicating chronic granulomatous disease of childhood.
