It is a measure of the importance of chromosome disorders in clinical medicine and of the rate at which information has been added that this primer appears in second edition only 3 years after its initial publication. In part, this also reflects the literary quality of the text. A reviewer of the first edition of this little book reportedly described it as information disguised as entertainment. I can do no better than concur with this judgment and apply it equally to the present edition.
