No one could have more sympathy with Dr. Shatkin than I. Indeed, the thesis of my material is not that all pediatricians should not be involved in comprehensive care, but that this has not proved feasible for a variety of reasons over the last 40 or 50 years. Therefore, rather than continue to exhort individuals to adopt a comprehensive stance when they feel uncomfortable with it, I think we should realize realities and accept the fact that there are tasks for everyone.
