Letter To The Editor

James P. Kemp M.D.1

1 Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics (Allergy) and Co-Director Pediatric Allergy Clinic and Training Program University of California, San Diego San Diego, California

The authors of the lead article in the May issue either were unaware of the article by Dr. Crook and his colleagues in this journal on "Systemic Manifestations of Allergy"1 in children, or chose to disregard his findings. Other physicians who at least attempt to diagnose food allergy by dietary eliminations and provocations have also reported on this condition.2,3 The list of associated symptoms and signs which are presented in Table I seem to be almost identical to those in Table I of the forementioned report.
