Dynamic Genetic Counseling for Clinicians, by Henry T. Lynch, M.D., Spring-field, Illinois: Charles C Thomas, 1969, 354 pp., $15.00

Genetic counseling includes the offering of genetic advice to individuals and families who are concerned about inherited disease. The counsellor must accurately define the genetic etiology of the disease(s) in question, determine the risk for each individual, insure that the advice given is adequately understood and, finally, offer whatever support is indicated to offset the impact of the information upon the recipient. It is obviously difficult for any single volume text to cover adequately all these areas.
