Most of the psychiatric literature regarding renal transplantation concerns the donorrecipient relationship. Nothing has been written about the implications of multiple transplants from a cadaver donor, although such procedures are becoming increasingly common. This paper describes a symbiotic syndrome which formed between two adolescent girls who received kidney transplants from the same cadaver. The significance and possible causes of this reaction are discussed.
