We referred Dr. Pinto's letter to Dr. Leslie Corsa, Jr., of the Center for Population Planning, University of Michigan. His comments follow.

Thanks for the opportunity to comment on Dr. Pinto's letter. I hope the following is helpful.

Dr. Pinto's concern with important national and world problems affecting, but largely outside of his specialized professional area, is refreshing. His recognition that he personally can do something about the many problems arising from present levels of births and resultant population growth is crucial.
