The brief account by Schaller and Wedgwood on pruritis associated with the rash of juvenile rheumatoid arthritis deserves comment. First, pruritus is misspelled in the title and throughout their article. Second, they erroneously cite our 1968 (not 1958) paper as implying that rash is "invariably" nonpruritic. Actually, one of our 20 patients with rash had pruritus, as reported. The foremost issue is really the frequency of pruritus associated with this exanthem, data which are lacking in the Schaller and wedgwood report.
