We agree with Drs. Morris and Phillis Steiner that the use of corticosteroids on our reported case1 might have contributed to the development of tuberculous meningitis 3
months after the initiation of specific therapy for pulmonary tuberculosis. The fact that the infecting organism was isoniazid resistant seems to substantiate this possibility.
On the other hand, documented cases of tuberculous meningitis, due to isoniazid susceptible organisms, developing during the course of chemotherapy (including isoniazid) for pulmonary tuberculosis have been described.2-4
