Plasma Lipoprotein Lipase in Children with Idiopathic Nephrotic Syndrome

Plasma lipoprotein lipase activity was determined in six children with idiopathic nephrotic syndrome and in six controls. The mean lipoprotein lipase activity was significantly lower in the symptomatic nephrotic patients. This decreased enzyme activity may contribute to the hyperlipemia usually observed in the nephrotic syndrome.
