Dr. Berenberg's commentary is timely for pediatricians and other physicians having contact with school children and educators. We believe, however, that the physician must reinterpret the school referral "which asks, Does he have minimal brain damage? "
Dr. Berenberg states, "It should stimulate the physician to a more detailed examination of the softer neurologic signs which might answer the question posed to him." We raise the following two questions in response to Dr. Benenberg:
