Psychological Needs of Hospitalized Children and Indexing of Letters

The April and May 1969 issues of Pediatrics contain five significant articles on the psychological needs of the hospitalized child.

In the April issue, Dr. Morris Green's editorial comments that new parent care units cannot stand alone. They require an intimate relationship and integration with child development and rehabilitation services. The description of the University of Kentucky's Care by Parent Unit may offer encouragement for more units that will lessen the emotional trauma of hospitalization.
