We are indebted to Margilethi for neawakening an interest in a common pediatric problem by reporting 115 persons with cat scratch disease, the first sizable series analyzed in many years.

The conclusion reported in our more recent analysis of 154 cases of cat scratch disease seen in a private pediatric practice is in agreement with that of Margileth in many particulars. However, his series, seen in a hospital setting for the most pant, again contains a high proponlion of relatively severe cases that give a distorted picture of the disease, as have other series reported through the years.
