This is the first comprehensive textbook on pediatric and adolescent gynecology since the fourth edition of G. C. Schauffler's Pediatric Gynecology appeared in 1958. There have been recent books on the gynecology of adolescence and childhood, notably those by Heald and Jones and Heller, but the latter have concentrated on certain specialized aspects of gynecologic care of the pediatric patient. Huffman's book, on the other hand, encompasses an encyclopedic view of the gynecologic disorders affecting infants, children, and adolescents and draws on the author's vast experience at the Children's Memorial Center in Chicago.
