Pediatric Plastic Surgery, Volume ITrauma, by Francis X. Paletta of the St. Louis University School of Medicine, is a welcome addition to the growing literature of plastic surgery. This book of 245 pages is well illustrated, well indexed, and covers emergency room care, tetanus, tracheostomy, local anesthesia, major soft tissue injuries, facial fractures, hand injuries, wringer injuries, bites, and burns in the pediatric age group. The bibliography is well arranged and complete. This volume is, in some respects, a "how-to-do-it" book with treatment outlined by-the-numbers.
