Lymphatics in Hyaline Membrane Disease

The report on "The Pulmonary Lymphatics in Neonatal Hvaline Membrane Disease" by Dr. J. M. Lauweryns and colleagues1 is welcome for the data which are presented and for the emphasis they place upon the pathologic anatomy of the disease, a facet too often overlooked. However, I believe it necessary to point to two portions of the paper which are in error.

That of lesser importance is the statement repeatedly made that this morphologic feature of hyaline membrane disease has been previously unreported.
